Hey everybody, it’s Emily! Hope you’re having a great summer so far, and know that school is about to start. Time flies, doesn’t it? So, to get ready for school, I wrote a story:

Celina, 11, CA
This was my first time into middle school, and I was super scared! I had just graduated from 5th grade, and now, here was 6th grade. Everything seemed pretty scary- in books, authors were always talking about enemies, and bullies, and confusion- I didn’t want that to happen to me! So then I stepped into Summerfield Middle School. Everything in the school looked normal- but I wasn’t so sure. I went to my first class, and my homeroom teacher, Ms. Sullivan, helped calm my nerves down. Middle school wasn’t that scary! So I give this advice to everybody entering 6th grade- don’t be scared, relax, and have fun! It won’t be long till you enter high school…

Hey! Long time, no talk. To make up for it, I’ve created a list of back to school tips.

Emily’s Back-to-School Tips:

• Be prepared! Get all of your school supplies ready.
• On the first day of school, DON’T be nervous! Calm yourself down.
• Relax! Summer’s not over yet. Don’t worry about school.
• You have friends, don’t you? They’ll always be by your side!
• Visit the Writer’s Corner! Here we have back-to-school specials after our hiatus.
• Have fun in school! This year is gonna rock!

It’s about halfway through the summer, and you DON”T want it to end. You DON”T feel like brushing your hair every morning. You don’t feel like waking up early. And you just don’t feel like doing a zillion other things. To get ready for school, visit the writer’s corner every day! Help your writing skills give a boost!

Hi everybody… the Writer’s Corner is going on hiatus for a while… we just need to take a little break. Plus, we’re all busy with other things, so we’ll try to post back soon.

My school threw an end-of-the-year pool party, and I was having so much fun. I was just getting out of the pool when I saw this person older than me who was on the diving board. He kept making little jumps, but never jumped into the pool. He was afraid, I think, but if he got off the diving board, he’d be humiliated! For 5 minutes he kept on doing that. I was getting irritated. This was endless. I was next on the diving board, but he wouldn’t jump! So, I just yelled, “JUMP ALREADY!!!” The guy looked startled, and he fell into the pool. Everyone wasn’t laughing at him, but at ME!!
